iCertify is a province-wide online tool for organic certification. This user-friendly, secure online system streamlines the organic certification process, making it easier to apply for a new certification or submit an annual renewal.

About iCertify

Where can I learn more about iCertify?

Will I be able to use iCertify for my 2021 application?
Please contact your local certification body directly to confirm if you can use iCertify for your 2021 application or renewal. A list of certified bodies can be found here.

What will I need to use iCertify?
To use iCertify, you will require an Internet connection and a computer or tablet, as well as information about your operations. As you work through the application, your answers can be saved at any point, and you can return to the application later if you need a break or need to gather other information to answer specific questions. iCertify works best in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. We encourage you to use these browsers.

What if I don't have access to the Internet or a computer?
While we hope that members will see the value in using iCertify, we understand that for some members, it won't be possible. Please contact your local certification body directly to find out the best way to complete your application.

Will iCertify make the application process more complicated?
The goal is to make the application and renewal process easier for everyone. The first time you use iCertify, you will be required to complete an "initial application." During the initial application process, you will need to respond to a variety of questions, in order to capture a complete overview of your enterprise. However, you will find that once this bulk of information has been input, annual renewals are much simpler and iCertify decreases the amount of time you spend on the renewal process each year.

Will I have to fill out all the questions again every year I renew?
No. After you have completed an initial application through iCertify, your application will be stored. When you apply for renewal the following year, your renewal will automatically populate with many of the answers and attachments you provided the previous year. You will need to review the information, make any necessary changes, and upload annually required records, before submitting the application.

How can I get help using iCertify?
There are a number of ways to learn more about iCertify.

What is the best browser to use for iCertify?
iCertify works best in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. We encourage you to use these browsers.

What if I have technical difficulties?
If you have trouble accessing iCertify, please contact your CB admin or email icertifyhelp(a)gmail.com. They will be able to assist you.

How safe is my information in iCertify?
All information submitted to iCertify is securely stored on dedicated COABC servers located in Canada, and backed up regularly. iCertify was designed with the security of your information as a top priority.

What if I forget my password?
If you forget your password, please contact your CB admin and they will reset your password for you. You will then be able to login and change your password. We recommend making note of your iCertify password or using a Password Manager.

Why is my application not automatically saving?
Certain older versions of Firefox and Safari are experiencing saving progress problems. Please be sure you are periodically seeing the 'saving progress' message at the bottom of the screen. It is also recommended to click the manual 'save' button periodically and ensure you see a saving progress message. If you need to walk away from the computer for some time, we recommend that you log out and log back in when you return to ensure your browser has not timed out.

Can I leave my computer for extended periods while logged into my iCertify account?
To prevent data loss, we recommend that if you need to walk away from the computer for some time, you log out and log back in when you return to ensure your browser has not timed out.

Will anything change in the way my CB communicates with me?
iCertify allows your administrator to send notifications directly to you by email. CB admins also have the ability to assign you "Tasks" through iCertify. Your CB Admin will send you an email instructing you to login to iCertify and check your Task Tab within the system if there are new notifications. In addition to using iCertify, you can always choose to email your Admin directly.

What if I want to add a new type of product or remove a product from my Certification?
When it is time to renew, you will have the opportunity to select any additional plans (ex. poultry) or remove items from your certification. If you wish to add product/organic plans throughout the season please contact your administrator directly.

Will I be able to download my application as a PDF?
Yes, you can download your application questions and answers as a PDF once it has been submitted. We recommend storing a copy of your PDF on your computer and/or print it for your records. All submitted application/renewal and uploaded compliance documentation should be kept for a minimum of five years.
