Fraudulent Certificates

Fraudulent certificates falsely represent agricultural products as certified organic under the Canadian Organic Regime. They likely have been created and used without the knowledge of the operator or the certifying body named in a certificate. The posting of fraudulent certificates does not necessarily mean that the named operator or certifying body was involved. If an operation is named in such a certificate, the certifying body identified can be contacted to confirm certification status (Certification Body List for BC).

It is important that the organic community is fully engaged in order to ensure organic integrity. Please contact either the COABC Office or the Canada Organic Office with any information on suspicious certificates.
